What Are Quilters Blogging About Today?

Good morning, my friends. Well, I can't lie...it was good to sit down at the machine yesterday and do some real sewing. I had a lot going on yesterday, and so I didn't have much time in the sewing room. Still, it was good to be doing something that required a needle and thread rather than a ruler and a rotary cutter.

When I finished yesterday's post, I happened to glance out the window to see the raindrops on the tree outside sparkling like diamonds in the sunshine. Just seeing the sunshine was a huge mood-booster ...

Good morning, my friends. It was a dark day yesterday. That usually means something truly terrible happened. In this case, it was just a dark sky from thick cloud cover. And it rained, and rained, and rained. If one can believe the forecast, we'll get some relief from this atmospheric river system we've been in. Ordinarily, I see the rain as good weather for sewing. So many days of darkness has me longing to get outside for a bit. Mike suggested we go out for Korean food last night, and I'd already been thinking the same thing ...

Good morning, my friends, and thank goodness it's Friday! I'm getting my hair cut today, and there's just one other item on my list of to-do's. Aside from that, it'll be a mostly sewing day. We're going to see some nice weather over the next couple of days...always appreciated when I need to drive into town for any reason.

When I left you yesterday, Smitty was just settling in for a morning nap.

Good morning, my friends. My night of sleep was short last night. It took me absolutely forever to fall asleep, but I was up at my usual time after just about 3 hours of shuteye. My mind was busy with everything I need to do, and there's no more procrastinating. Today, I really must start doing some packing. For the past couple of days, I've been doing some cooking and baking ahead. On yesterday's to-do list was to bake up these Chocolate-chunk Oatmeal Cookies with Pecans and Dried Cherries. Several years back, I scaled this favorite cookie ...

Good morning, my friends! Happy Saturday! We had a dry day yesterday, and it was very nice to get outside for a little bit. My only venture outside was to fill the bird feeders. The kitties were happy to get outside for a nice munch of their favorite grass. Think of it as the green, green grass of home. They like it better than the stuff they get while we're traveling.

Good morning, my friends! Happily, I announce that I'll have the house to myself today and tomorrow. It isn't that I don't enjoy having Mike around...I do. On the other hand, a chance to go a little bohemian is always appealing. There were a couple of housekeeping chores on the calendar for today and tomorrow, but I moved those to a different day. Aside from watering the flower pots, these two days are mine, all mine.

It was a mostly driving day yesterday, and we're now set up in Boulder City for the next two weeks. We were just discussing our plans for this place. My x-ray is set up for early Monday morning in Henderson (about 30 minutes away), and so we'll use that time to visit a quilt shop and a hardware store. 

When we drove into town yesterday, I wasn't looking for a sign, and so I almost missed it. When I took it off the camera this morning, I noticed it was built to look like Hoover Dam.

It was a mostly driving day yesterday, and we're now set up in Boulder City for the next two weeks. We were just discussing our plans for this place. It was blustery and cloudy, and by day's end a big black cloud formed in the sky, dumping rain for most of the evening. Today, we're back to sunshine, although it is decidedly cooler than it has been. We still want to do some hiking, but I have a feeling we'll wait until the weekend is over. Maybe not...one never knows.
